Everything is Ryan Hoover's Fault

This year has been nuts.  I've become a much more outward person, publicizing side projects, live streaming my life & meeting all kinds of new people.

I will be writing more on my recent changes (new apartment and new job) but I need blame all these awesome things on my new friend Ryan Hoover.  Yes, I'm extremely proud to call him a friend.

Basically, I was seeking career and life advice from all areas of the internet when I stumbled upon this amazing post by Mr. Hoover.  I emailed him with some info about me... my concerns and some questions.  He replied with the below:

Hey Jeff. Sorry I've been meaning to get back to you but I'm incredibly overwhelmed right now with work.

I'd like to help but I'm afraid I'll have to be brief but I hope this helps:

- identify the type of people and company you want to work with. A good place to start is working on products you love and use.

- prove your value to the founders/hiring managers in some way. Eg if you want to get sales, literally get them new customers.

- invest in yourself. Learn, build real relationships, work on side projects

Hope that helps. If you have any specific questions please let me know and I might be able to provide some input. Also Google a post I wrote titled "knowing when it's time to move on" :)

I tried to follow his instructions... and I landed in my current position. I couldn't be happier.

Also, he put my name in the NY times & blabbered about me for 30 sec. on SiriusXM radio.

Seriously.

THANK YOU RYAN HOOVER.

Further Blame  (more things he has done)

UPDATE 6/11/15: More amazingly nice things are said, to more amazingly awesome people
